  • Yes, I offer therapy for children and teens ages 8-18, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, peer relationships, self-esteem, academic pressure, and family dynamics. I use age-appropriate techniques and collaborate with parents when appropriate to ensure the best outcomes.

  • It’s important to approach the topic of therapy in a way that feels safe and encouraging. For younger children, you might say something like, “We’re going to talk to someone who can help you feel better and talk about what’s on your mind.” For older children, you can explain that therapy is a place where they can get support with any feelings or problems they might be dealing with. Reassure them that therapy is a space that is theirs and they can utilize it however they want.

  • Signs that your child might benefit from therapy include:

    • Difficulty managing emotions (e.g., excessive tantrums, sadness, anxiety)

    • Withdrawal from family, friends, or activities they once enjoyed

    • Sudden changes in behavior (e.g., acting out, trouble at school)

    • Trouble adjusting to life changes (e.g., divorce, moving, or the loss of a loved one)

    • Physical symptoms (headaches, stomachaches) related to stress

    • Difficulty with social interactions or bullying

If you're concerned about your child’s well-being, it’s a good idea to schedule a consultation with a therapist to discuss your observations.

  • Therapy can be a helpful tool for personal growth, managing stress, improving relationships, and healing from trauma or difficult life events. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or facing challenges that are hard to navigate alone, therapy might be a good fit. The first session is a chance to explore whether we are a good match and whether therapy is the right path for you.

  • Your first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. We will also review some basic administrative details, such as confidentiality and policies. We'll spend time talking about your background and any specific challenges you're facing, and together we will develop a plan for moving forward.
